Food Mesto, Wilber

Food mesto, food town. Czechs have worked hard to preserve the ancestral language. The Czech Language Foundation has energized the language program by providing scholarships for all levels of Czech language students at UNL. Czech food, too, is preserved here. In Wilber, you can get jelita (blood sausage), jaternice (white sausage), and the Wilber wiener, all made from old world recipes. Kolaches (Czech pastries), houska (raisin and nut filled bread) and Wilber rye bread are available every day at the bakery.
