The Wilber Czech Festival is integral to life in Wilber. Even though it lasts just three days in August, the planning goes on all year. 2009 was the forty-eighth year. The Festival includes a parade, the Miss Czech-Slovak US Pageant, a Bohemian tractor pull, a kolache eating contest, a Polka Mass (outdoors, north of the church), Czech bingo, Czech dancers, and a band concert. Over the course of three days, twenty-five thousand visitors fill the streets. The Festival is an enormous boost to the local economy. It continues the Czech tradition of bringing the community together.
